1/11 - Japanese Theme

New this week are Japanese themed items. I'll start off with highlights then give an example of 2 themed rooms I put together. As I mentioned in the last post, there is a furniture set, decorative items, 1 wallpaper and flooring, mystery box food, 5 new outfits, 2 new wigs, a beautiful garden window, and a rare fish and sakura tree.

The schoolgirl outfit is my favorite - a definite improvement on the sailor dress I had been using. The kimonos are simply gorgeous - there is also a purple variation of the blue kimono above and a white/pink kimono. Each comes with its own hair accessory. There are also two geta you can mix and match with the outfits. I also really like the red hachimaki available in the men's department.

I was very happy to discover that for this release the tree and limited fish can be purchased without playfish cash. I went through about 22 seeds before I came across the rare tree but only had to use a few mystery box foods before I reeled in a koi.

The mystery box foods are incredible - so detailed and include some of my favorite dishes =). The box they come in is so cute I wish it could sit properly on a shelf. Pink daifuku and piping hot green tea seem to be the rarer of the prizes. There is also a tako (octopus) appetizer, anko dessert, cup of ramen, onigiri (one of my top fav. Japanese foods ^_^), dorayaki, and assorted sushi.

Below are two Japanese themed rooms I put together. One major, major grievance I have with playfish has been mentioned many times in forums. It's the ability to layer with their items. Granted, it's really difficult in a flash game but for items you pay a lot for (the Japanese window with panels that can open to reveal a panorama of Mt. Fugi) you should be able to put things in front of it or set decorative items on the window ledge.

The detail and items they did release however are simply stunning - I love the variability, colors, and selection. The pink and blue paper cranes are amazing as is the Empress doll, manga shelf, and Shiba inu plushie. I love the kotatsu (I think playfish likes to release in pink/blue XP). I set the Japanese tea set on top of it along with the mystery box cup of green tea. The wallpaper/flooring set is also incredible =) I've been desperately hoping for this set for months and intend to get every item lol
